WTO's 14th Ministerial Conference (MC14)
The WTO’s 14th Ministerial Conference (MC14) will take place from 26 to 29 March 2026 in Yaoundé, Cameroon. Ministers from across the world will attend the Conference to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the multilateral trading system and to take action on the future work of the WTO. The Conference will be chaired by Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana, Cameroon’s Minister of Trade.
Women's access to international markets to be spotlighted at MC14 high-level event
A high-level event on women and trade will be held on the margins of the 14th WTO Ministerial Conference in Yaoundé, Cameroon, on 25 March to bring together women entrepreneurs, development partners and WTO members. Registration for the event – which will feature the work of the WTO Informal Working Group on Trade and Gender, the International Trade Centre (ITC) SheTrades Initiative and the Women Exporters in the Digital Economy (WEIDE) Fund – is open until 22 February.
Fish Fund launches second Call for Proposals
The WTO Fish Fund opened its second Call for Proposals on 2 February, inviting developing and least-developed country (LDC) WTO members that have ratified the Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies to apply for project grants aimed at supporting their implementation of the Agreement.

European Union-African Union summit, 24-25 November 2025
Leaders of the European Union (EU) and the African Union (AU) member states met in Luanda, Angola for the seventh EU-AU summit under the theme ‘Promoting peace and prosperity through effective multilateralism’.
The summit, marking 25 years of EU-AU partnership as well as 50 years of independence for Angola and several other African countries, was co-chaired by the President of Angola, João Lourenço, and the President of the European Council, António Costa.
G20 Leaders’ Declaration Adopted at South Africa Summit
In a landmark moment for the Global South, the G20 Leaders’ Declaration has been officially adopted under South Africa’s presidency, marking the first time the group’s highest-level consensus has been reached on the African continent.

The discussion was forward looking and focused on the transatlantic trade relationship after concluding the EU-US Joint Statement on trade of 21 August 2025 and shared global challenges linked for instance on global overcapacities, supply chain resilience and economic security.

The World Health Organization (WHO), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the World Trade Organization (WTO) will hold the 12th Trilateral Cooperation Technical Symposium on Antimicrobial Resistance: Addressing the Innovation Gap, Access Inequities, and Supply Challenges on 11 December 2025.
WTO Fish Fund approves USD 2.9m in first grants, gears up for next Call for Proposals
At its meeting on 18 and 19 November, the WTO Fish Fund Steering Committee approved 26 requests for project grants – totalling USD 2.9 million – to support developing and least-developed country (LDC) members implement the WTO Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies. The Steering Committee also agreed to launch a second call for funding requests in early 2026.
